Important Dates This Week:
Sunday School: Sunday School is at 9:45am. Adult and Young Adult classes meet on-site. Children's Sunday School available via Zoom. Contact Kim Ridenour for more information at email@example.com.
Sunday Worship: Children's Sabbath Sunday, Oct 18th. Worship in-person at 11am, or on-demand available at about 1:30pm. In-person worship is in the chapel with face masks and social distancing. Worship virtually here.
November Newsletter Deadline: Submit newsletter submissions by October 19th to the church office.
Soup Kitchen: October 20th -- Serving the community in two groups of up to 20 people each. Group 1 served from 5-5:30pm and Group 2 served 5:45-6:15pm. Social distancing and face masks required.
Worship Planning Meeting: October 22nd, 11am in the Burhans Room.
News & Announcements:
All Saints Day: Submit names, dates, and if possible, photos, of any one you’d like to remember during our special All Saint’s Day service who has passed since 1 November 2019. Submit info to the church office or Pastor Katie.
Zion Soup Kitchen served 16 people on October 13th, with a warm sit-down meal of chili, sandwiches, cake, cookies, and more. Volunteers are welcome every Tuesday evening from 4:30 to 6:45, we serve the community from 5:00-6:15.
Young Adult Sunday School Announcement: Books of the Bible study underway, exploring the entire Bible with journals, video, and readings. Please join us for an interesting and informative study. Any questions contact Richard Cantilena at 678.559.8927.
Prayer Requests: Submit your prayer requests to the church office by phone at 301.739.7244 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can pray for one another. The prayer list of names can be emailed or mailed to you upon request due to privacy concerns.
Helping Hands: Helping Hands ministry outreach has been temporarily suspended except for that of lector due to service format changes during the pandemic while we meet virtually, and in the chapel. Watch for notification for these outreach opportunities to return.

Get Out the Vote: Ensure you are Registered to Vote and have requested your mail-in ballot if desiring to vote by mail at https://elections.maryland.gov. Create your voting plan and encourage others to vote using the UCC Election resources: Our Faith Our Vote and Let Justice Roll.

Save the Date:
- Halloween Trick or Treat night, we will be giving out free hot dogs, water bottles, and candy from 6-8pm in the parking lot. Volunteers welcome and sealed, individually wrapped candy donations.
- Trumpet & Organ Recital, November 15th at 3pm in the sanctuary.
